Hybrid: Google Certified Educator

Instructor: Multiple   3 Graduate Credits

Drake Course #EDMT 262

**Important info - February 2024: Our Google Certified Educator preparation courses rely heavily on content from the Google for Education Training Modules. Google is in the process of revamping their basic and intermediate training modules, so some content in the current platform may be out of date. If you would like to wait to enroll, our courses will relaunch to align with updated training materials as soon as Google for Education updates their training modules. You may still enroll in the current training modules, but additional independent preparation may be necessary before taking a certification exam. Thank you for your patience.

Please Note - Andrews University will process no more than 18 credits per session, and transcripts reflect the session in which you complete the course.

Become Google Certified!  Google Workspace consists of apps, add-ons, and extensions that can be used to enhance student learning and improve efficiency to help teacher wellness. Becoming a Google Certified Educator benefits both teachers and students. Participants will learn and apply digital literacy skills to navigate Google applications. Participants will create learning experiences that can be immediately implemented  in the classroom using Google Workspace. Participants will explore and apply digital tools for planning, teaching, learning, and assessment.  They will collaborate via online communities to discuss and share lessons and strategies. This course is a guided supplement to the Google Fundamentals Training, which participants will also be completing.  Participants in this course will be prepared to take the Google Certified Educator Level 1 exam - tuition for this course includes a discount equivalent to the cost of the exam. Participants do NOT have to take the Google Exam to earn graduate credit for this course, and completion of the course does not guarantee Google Certification.

*The Google Certified Educator Level 1 exam is offered through ED Technology Specialists. It is not associated with or conferred by CSU Pueblo, and will not be reflected on your course transcript or any other university documentation.

This is a hybrid course with both face-to-face instruction, as well as online classwork.  The skills and strategies explored in this course can be applied to all content areas.

This course has previously been approved for METHODOLOGY.

Live Meetings: There will be live interactive meetings.  Dates and times to be announced.  There will be make-up dates if you cannot attend.
