Hybrid: Tools to Strengthen Mathematical Processes in the K-12 Classroom

Instructor: Multiple   3 Graduate Credits

Colorado State Course #501

Please Note - Andrews University will process no more than 18 credits per session, and transcripts reflect the session in which you complete the course.

The NCTM has identified five process standards for K-12 mathematics instruction: Problem Solving, Reasoning, Communication, Connections, and Representation. While it is easy to list these processes, it can be very difficult to implement them in the classroom.  In this highly engaging course for K-12 mathematics educators, participants will dive into the five process standards, explore resources to support implementation, and experiment with digital tools to enhance teaching and learning.Participants will design meaningful learning experiences that can be immediately implemented  in the classroom. Participants will explore and apply digital tools to set goals, research, track progress, and show learning. Participants will collaborate via online communities to discuss and share lessons and strategies.

This is a hybrid course with both face-to-face instruction, as well as online classwork.  The skills and strategies explored in this course can be applied to all content areas.

This course has previously been approved for METHODOLOGY.

Live Meetings: There will be live interactive meetings.  Dates and times to be announced.  There will be make-up dates if you cannot attend.
