Vocabulary is the foundation of effective communication and comprehension across all subject areas. In this course, we will delve into Robert Marzano's renowned six-step process for teaching vocabulary, equipping educators with powerful strategies to enhance students' word knowledge and deepen their understanding.

Throughout this course, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of each step in Marzano's process, including selecting vocabulary words, providing student-friendly explanations, engaging students in meaningful activities, reinforcing word knowledge, reviewing and assessing vocabulary growth, and integrating vocabulary across the curriculum. By mastering these steps, educators will empower students to become proficient and confident word learners.

Participants will explore a range of instructional strategies, instructional resources, and technology tools that support effective vocabulary instruction. They will also engage in hands-on activities and discussions to enhance their understanding of how to implement Marzano's six-step process effectively in their classrooms.

This course is designed for students of 2nd through 12th grade.

This is a hybrid course with both face-to-face instruction, as well as online classwork.  The skills and strategies explored in this course can be applied to all content areas. 


This course has previously been approved for CONTENT. 

Live Meetings: There will be live interactive meetings.  Dates and times to be announced.  There will be make-up dates if you cannot attend.
