This hand-on course is designed for K-12 educators eager to lead positive change in their school as a teacher leader. Throughout this course, we dive deep into the research behind what makes a school truly thrive – exploring the interconnected worlds of school culture, climate, and morale – and immediately connect that understanding to actionable teacher leadership. You won't just learn theory; you'll gain practical skills by assessing your own school environment, setting targeted goals, and developing eight tangible action plans grounded in the principles of Facilitative, Adaptive, and Affiliative leadership. Step out of this course with not only enhanced leadership capabilities but also a ready-to-implement roadmap for fostering a more vibrant, supportive, and energized school community. Participants who are currently teaching will find it easiest to complete the in-school assessment components.
Los Angeles teachers are limited to enrolling in a maximum of six courses per session through ED Technology Specialists. If students finish coursework before the session end date, paperwork for salary points will be processed at that time.
