This course will help teachers improve student physical fitness and health, especially mental health in a new era of virtual and hybrid learning. Never before in history has social-emotional learning played such an important role in education. At a time when students are acquiring and mastering the skills that they will need to become productive members of society, the classrooms and learning communities in which they engage are in more and more need of social and emotional supports. Students are increasingly faced with challenging obstacles that are causing anxiety and depression. The ability for students to deal with external and internal stressors has become essential in order for them to thrive in our ever-changing world. Participants in this course will explore and investigate strategies and digital tools for integrating social and emotional learning.
Los Angeles teachers are limited to enrolling in a maximum of six courses per session through ED Technology Specialists. If students finish coursework before the session end date, paperwork for salary points will be processed at that time.
